  1. Uncover pool and check water appearance eg Clear, Cloudy or green. If not "Clear" water, contact Pool Manager immediately (See above) and put up notice "Pool Closed for Sanitation" on the handrail at the deep end, door to Pump House and in the Pavilion.

  1. Take the water sample by turning the jug upside down to trap air, put it into the water as deep as your arm reaches and then turn the jug to get a sample from below the surface of the pool, and before any other tap water is added to the pool, for 'Chemical testing' later. (See 9 below)

3. Clean pool's water surface using a net. Put any debris into the waste bin by the Pump House, not on the flower beds. If waste bin is full, empty onto the bonfire at top right of club site. Actioned: Y/N?

4. Retrieve skimmer basket from each of the three Skimmer ports, empty the skimmer socks into the waste bin and rinse. If damaged or worn replace with new ones. Actioned Y/N:

  1. Using the wooden tool undo the strainer filter lid, retain the rubber O ring and wash the basket out over the pool waste tin, if there are any gel blocks in the filter clean them and put them back into the filter.

The gel blocks last one month in the pool so check when they were last replaced and if more than a month ago put two into the filter.

Making sure the O ring is seated on the lid screw it back on hand tight (WITHOUT using the wooden tool) and turn the pump back on checking it's all okay.

  1. Turn the robot hoover off on the control panel and carefully lift it out of the water being mindful not to bash it against the wall and do not pull it out of the pool by its umbilical lead.

Turn the robot on it's back and undo the two clips and lift off the bottom plate of the robot also pick up the black filter bag clips.

Gently take off the filter bag being careful with the wire supports inside.

Turn the bag inside out and wash under a fast running tap, turn in the right way and rewash.

If the bag won't come clean change it for the other bag, if it comes clean refit it (blue tab outward) put the filter retaining clips back on and gently put the bag back on the bottom plate, black clips to hold the filter in and refit the filter plate, reclip it and gently put the robot back into the pool, turn it upside down so it fills rigt up with water and let it sink to the bottom of the pool.

Turn the robot back on on the control panel and check the umbilical isn't caught anywhere.

  1. Measure the chemical properties of the collected pool water sample (see 2 above) using the Scuba II electronic meter for:

pH      (range: 7.2 to 7.6)

Chlorine Free (range: 1 to 2.5)

Chlorine Total (range: 1 to 4)

Cyanuric Acid (range: 30 to 50)

To adjust pool water pH level to within specified range, add cups of pH Reducer (Minus) or pH Increaser (Plus) as required.

If Chlorine levels appear to be out of the accepted range, please contact the pool manager.
