Haslemere Sun Club Open Weekend

Well the weather forecast last weekend wasn’t looking the best, after all the sun and warmth we’d had for the past 2 months, but we still held a great Open Weekend. The threatened rain that we were supposed to have did not materialise until after dark. It may have been cloudy on the Saturday, but it wasn’t cold, still warm enough for a spot of aqua aerobics and our traditional open day bbq.

Sunday was a much better day, slightly breezier, but plenty of sun in between the patchy cloud that moved along swiftly.

Members and visitors again got involved in the aqua aerobics hosted by our very own Green Goddess, David. This was followed by water volleyball.

A spot of badminton and swing ball was also available for those wanting to partake. I would suggest wearing proper footwear when playing badminton as falling over on concrete slabs is not particularly comfortable.

The evening finished with a plentiful supply of food provided by members for the American Supper, followed by an evening of laughter and singing as we all enjoyed/ endured the karaoke. Elvis did make an appearance but has since left the building.

If you weren’t there, you missed a great weekend. Just make sure you’re there for the next social. Check out what’s on at the club here.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard to make the Open Day such a success despite the BH weather. Whether helping on the work day, week before, painting lines for the badminton, welcoming guests, aqua aerobics in the pool, prepping/cooking the bbq, bringing food for the American Supper, baking scones or making cocktails, creating the quiz or karaoke the weekend was a joy from start to finish. HSC is a truly special place with some truly special friends. Thank you 😊
