On Saturday 21st June, Haslemere Sun Club marked the longest day with a relaxed yet radiant celebration among sunny-spirited company.
Chief Druid Richard set the tone with a āFabricate Your Own Fauxhengeā challenge. Thinking well beyond the boulder, teams conjured up Woodhenge, Bookhenge, Mallowhenge and Rockhengeābuilt not over 1500 years, but in just 15 minutes.
Celestial style was on show with Gayleās sun-themed face and body art, while Toby stirred things up with a sunshine-inspired signature cocktail. Fairy lights and floral touches gave the evening a golden glow as members gathered for a seasonal supper under slowly fading skies.
The festivities wrapped with a quiz to test our solar savvyāand prove that when it comes to celebrating the solstice, HSC can mix light-heartedness with a little lunar logic.
Hereās to sunshine, silliness and saluting the season in style.

Thanks to everyone who made this a such a great day; for bringing food and drink and taking part in the fun. We even had Fredās family with daughter and grandchild enjoying the lovely weather and the pool: the hottest itās been at nearly 30 degrees Centigrade, at the sunniest time of the year. Ā Sixteen of us attended; āHengineeringā or entering the other competitions and prepping sharing food in between. Ā The weather was so warm we had a lovely evening meal on the lawn followed by cocktails and a Solstice quiz, and several couples stayed over.Ā Ā Hereās to doing this again next year when the Summer Solstice is also due to fall on a weekend!
